UK2 have always looked to me as a good respectable business. A couple of months ago, I was looking to buy a reseller for some business work.
I did my homework on a few providers, due to most of UK2s reviews being positive, I signed up with them. As some of their reviews have been negative I decided to open up a trial with them to test their quality of service.
I provided some questions via their support system, and it just went downhill. I realised that if I was going to carry on my business ventures then id have to move to a couple of servers.
I explained to UK2 that I would like to cancel my trial, and id happily pay for the domain that was registered. It seems UK2 just wont do that.
They keep replying with, is there any way we could improve our service to make up stay.
If I've asked to cancel the trial, I'm obviously wanting to move away.
I opened this ticket 20 Oct 2008 07:15 PM. It's the 31 Dec 2008 and they still have not cancelled my trial after me saying, can you cancel this trial.
My ticket remains open, with no reply from them in 10days. I just want to leave UK2 and not return, that's all.

Hi

I signed up with UK2.net 2 days ago now (which forced me btw. to buy a domain as opposed to just letting me use one of my existing domains without actually transferring it to UK2.net - thank God I did not do that as now I would be untangling that mess too).
I bought the most expensive hosting solution available, Business Plus, as on paper the offer looked fantastic, especially the root access and full control panel. And I liked their 30 day money back guarantee offer so thought there is no real risk.


In reality what happened is that it took them around 14 hours just to enable my account from when I signed up and paid which is astonishingly slow when every other host I have worked with enable it automatically.
Then when it was enabled, I cannot get into my SSH access, I am unable to set up more sites on the server, and I don't even have FTP access to my account.

So after trawling around any support docs available, I decided to get in touch with support and this is where it all starts to go wrong. I have emailed, tried to chat to their online "Live" support service which is ALWAYS offline. I have now been trying to call Sales, Customer Service, Billing and Support departments and I cannot speak to anyone, it just rings off the hook on EVERY number.
So, in summary, I have no service, I cannot set up any of the sites I need. I was getting desperate so just signed up with SliceHost (which is brilliant btw. if you are comfortable managing a Linux installation), and thought that there is no loss as I can claim my money back on the 30 day money back guarantee.... except, there is no way for me to claim the money back because no one is answering the phone.

So now I am having to file a report with the credit card company to get a charge back. Arrghhh, UK2.net, you are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I hope people read this review and don't go through the same experience, it's just not worth the money!
