I've been with ServerGrove for 4 months now. I got a VPS with them back in mid December. I found them because the co-founder is on the symfony mailing list.

The VPS was great. I had it for a little over three months, and there was no downtime at all.

I believe it is semimanaged. They were mostly hands-off, unless I asked them to upgrade something. However, when they set it up, I could ask them to install various packages, like symfony, trac, and so forth.

So after about three months, I decided I needed more resources, or would need more resources soon, and wanted it to be scalable. I was trying to decide between a dedicated server from ServerGrove, or Cartika's high availability hosting. I ended up going with ServerGrove, because I like having root access. It turned out to be good, anyway, because I ended up installing Ruby on Rails, since I wanted to start learning that.

So I've had a dedicated server for the last 3-4 weeks. That is slightly more off-hands with them, but they said they would still help with upgrading software if I really needed it, though I think they limit it to 3 tickets per month for such things. I figured I was doing fine with the VPS with minimal help, though, so didn't think it'd matter much.

I ended up getting the Opteron 1218 from this page. I got a 750 GB harddrive though instead, which only increased the price by $20.

It's been great as well. I really have no complaints, nor can I say much because just nothing has been going on. It's been great.

One thing that I really love about ServerGrove is that I feel like I can trust them. I had been talking to the same person who introduced me to the company, Pablo Godel, about getting a dedicated server. I felt like I could ask what exactly he thought I should go with for my requirements, without him trying to up-sell me. He even turned me away from some things I just didn't need yet.

Oh, and when their support line was down because of some maintenance on a server, he responded to me from his personal email address, which I really appreciated.

Their support has been great, as well. I used it quite a bit when I first got the VPS, until I got settled in, and they were always very patient and helpful.

I just felt I should review this company, because it seems it has not been mentioned on WHT yet, and it definitely deserves to be.
