Well - I'd been hosting with MochaHost for a good while - I actually left a very glowing review of them a few months after I'd first started hosting with them - circa 2007...

Well - that was then - this is now:

I am totally DISGUSTED with them - While their customer support was to be admired - it no longer is that way unfortunately. See the screencap of the most recent support ticket fiasco I'm experiencing because of their subpar service:

That is just ONE example of the ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS MOCHAHOST I have experienced in the past several weeks. As it seems - I might loose my domain of 3+ years because of their incompetence!

Another incident which I'm quite furious about is a bogus charge to one of my debit cards. A debit card of which I use specifically for online purchases and from an account that I do not keep money in unless I add it for a specific purchase. So I did NOT give MochaHost permissions to make that charge AND all of my invoices were paid up to date as of the bogus charge. Because of this charge (there was no money in the account) -- I've been assessed an insufficient funds overdraft fee of $30.

I'm beginning to think MochaHost is an "English as 2nd language" type of scam... I've filed another support ticket with them and thus far they only act as if they don't understand English and are refusing to reimburse me the overdraft fee the bogus charge incurred...

I'm hoping once I show the support ticket log to my credit union that they will remove the fee and revoke the bogus charge.

MochaHost also oversells their accounts. When your sites get popular enough and have a nice bit of traffic they will tell you to upgrade your account and offer you no enhancements. Yet they are willing to take your money like scamming thieves!

I have given MochaHost 100s of dollars for my own personal purchases. I also was part of their affiliate program and have referred many clients to them in the past. Never again! They are a subpar hosting scam and I'm sorry to have left such a glowing review of MochaHost to begin with. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone else though.

In fact - MochaHost is such a ****** service - I have compiled a list of the horrid problems I've experienced with them the past couple weeks and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau!

So take heed ==> AVOID MOCHAHOST!

I want to share my experience with MochaHost.com so the community can make an informed decision:

I started a small web design business and over the last 3 months developed about 60 web sites using .NET and some PHP. I purchased one of their reseller plans to allow me to host my sites I developed. After 3 months of dealing with all their problems.. They decide to tell me that "my sites are using too much CPU and my account will be canceled in 24 hours, Have a Nice Day". So they basically destroyed my business in 1 sweep. I know my sites don't use any CPU or memory as they are all small sites with very little traffic and do not do anything that would be memory or CPU intensive. If it truly was a CPU issue, all sites are setup as isolated application pools and they could just tell me which one is causing the problem. They then say you can upgrade your account to avoid it being canceled. Of course its more money. Many reviews on other sites have this behavior of MochaHost in common. It smells of some type of scam to me...

Not withstanding that little detail above, The hosting uptime is terrible in my experience... If you want to call it uptime as there is very little of it. I have independent uptime stats for the last 3 months of over 60 web sites hosted at this host, they have been down over 145 times during just 3 months. Many of those times are for extensive lengths of time confirmed at multiple locations. When approached about this they say they only use their own internal uptime stats that say everything is at 100% uptime. They do not trust Alertra results. Give me a break!

Their entire platform is flawed and full of bugs and problems. They will eventually say that the control panels they use are full of bugs and they are working with the vendors to correct it and that is the reason for all the problems... It never gets corrected obviousely and the vendors like the world known Cpanel and Plesk know of no bugs in their software.

The customer support is non existent at best. I would actually rather them not respond to me then respond to me. Their responses when they come days later are idiotic, rude and ignorant and I'm being kind.. They only have a couple of agents that use different aliases when dealing with customers. They want you to think you are dealing with many people. Their Live chat they claim to have is automated with bots with canned responses. If they are human beings, I feel very bad for them. My advice is to stay far away from this host. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews on this company.. I wish I did before I signed up and entrusted them with my sites.

For proof of any of this and more info on just how bad they really are just PM me and I'll provide the 15 pages of tickets with 10 tickets per page I had to create over 3 months and all their wonderful responses. It really is laughable if you can laugh as they destroy your business.

So as they say at Mochahost after they destroyed your business, Have a Nice Day!
