I am using Justhost to host my 2 websites since last 11 months. Justhost is really economical for small businesses and it’s price starts from just 2.95 AUD if you choose opt for its 5 year plan. If you go for one or two years plan then price may be bit more. With web hosting plan they even provides a free domain name, so if you are just starting out on the internet you don’t have to buy a domain name separately. During my 11 months web hosting with them, I found them very reliable and consistent and my websites uptime was more than 99.9% all the time. When I signed up with them, I even got the $25 worth of Google and Yahoo advertisement credits which were really useful for me in the beginning to let people know that my website exists. You even get the free website builder and free templates with their web-hosting service, but those free web templates are very sloppy and are of very cheap quality. So you can’t really use them to build a good website. Their free website builder was also useless for me as never used it. The thing what I liked most about them is their customer service which was just excellent throughout my 11 months hosting. And the other thing I really liked about them was you get $50 credit whenever you refer any friend and your friend decides to buy a web hosting package. This is a great deal because even if you refer just one of your friend in a year, you pay for your whole year’s web hosting and you can eventually make some money too! So all in all Justhost is definitely recommended.

After some research for a new shared hosting, I went for JustHost.
Initially I thought it was very good, then I started to get all this promotion spam for faster servers, value add services, premium support, premium anti-spam, ... Turns out SSH is a paid extra, that Hostmonster has for free.

Anyway, I was still satisfied with it, until one day my site rendered with strange characters. I thought it was my fault, started to analyze the last changes and found nothing.
I checked my DataBase, and it was ok, but after a lot of research, it turned out that the global variables for the PHP-MySQL connection were changed, from UTF-8 to Latin1, without any prior notice.

I opened a support ticket:

It was temporally fixed but after a few minutes/hours, it happened again, several times and was finally fixed BY CONVERTING MY DATABASE to Latin1, again, without my previous consent:

Still, it was running ok, so I leaved it that way.

Days later, again without prior notice, my website was SUSPENDED.

I received an email telling me that my website had been suspended:

I'm writing this 7 hours later, with my account still suspended.

They argue that a file was requested 2,607,616 times in 24 hours and caused a server overload. This file is the result for Hotlink Protection.
Strange, because I get around 2,000 - 5,000 visits a day.

On May 9, I signed up for service with JUSTHOST.

On my first day with JUSTHOST, I started to learn that most of the statements on their site are false. Please look at this link on their site guarantees menu. Within that link, they claim, “We guarantee that you will be able to reach us and speak with a real human being, someone who speaks English and can answer your questions, fix your problems and help you resolve your issues.” This is a FRAUD. All members of their support team I have talked to do not speak good English and cannot help you resolve any issue. They are only there to advise you to send an email, which is usually answered about 6 hours later.

The money back guarantee is a fraud. For cancellation, you have to send them an email, which is not answered days after of your request. I have not yet received my refund or a cancellation confirmation email.

The accredited with Better Business Bureau is new as of 03/23/2009 and I assume their intention for joining was another fraud for new members to trust their site. There are already 10 similar reports of refund FRAUD. On May 14, my account was suspended and I was asked to sign up for a dedicated server because I have exceeded the 10% usage. I contacted them on the phone to advise them that I was not planning to upgrade and need to remove my files. I was told that I needed to send an email. I immediately sent them an email and they never replied. Six hours later, I sent them another email to ask for my files so I can cancel my account. No reply. On day two, I sent another email no reply. So far, I have sent them over 8 email with no reply.

Justhost is a FRAUD. They get you to sign up, suspend your account, and then force you to upgrade to a dedicated server. Their claim of me exceeding the 10% CPU is false because from my cpanel, I have never exceeded 7% and my site does not have the much traffic. As of today, they have not confirmed my cancellation request or allowed me to get my files. I think this company is operated outside of the USA but is a reseller of another company like ThePlanet.

Please stay away from this company.
