I recently moved my development site from Godaddy to Bravenet and immediately started experiencing problems. Below is a transcript of the trouble ticket. Doug is one sharp individual to track this one down for me! I just hope you all can understand the leap of insight it took to solve it.

For those of you still using "Bargain" hosting for development, it just is not worth it, spend a little more and sleep a lot better!

Member [Leonard Begy]January 31, 2009 05:28:50As often as not my site will not load "cannot display the web page" This is a development site and my client has no problem loading site at any time, this is more than embarassing, as quite often I have to explain to him that work has not progressed because I cannot load site. Please resolve this issue I have had the site less than a month and have been dealing with this issue since day one! If I must I will move on to try another host.

Dear Leonard Begy,

I was able to access your site without error.

Make sure you are not restricting your access with a Firewall, Anti Spyware Utility or Anti Virus software. As well make sure you are using the latest version of your browser of choice. Make sure you are not using any kind of popup stopper, or have your browsers security settings set too high. Delete your temporary internet files and cookies. If you are still getting the error message about having cookies enabled, please check for the following.

Open up your Control Panel / double click Network Connections / Right click on Local Area Connection at the top of the page/ Choose Properties/ Click on Advanced/ Make sure the check box is not checked.

Open your browser, click on Tools from the top menu, then Internet Option, then Privacy, then Advanced. Make sure you have Override automatic cookie handling checked. Then check Always allow session cookies. Then click OK.

Please follow these directions to enable session cookies.

- Click Tools-->Internet Options

- Click on the Privacy Tab

- Click the 'Advanced' button

- Check the 'Override automatic cookie handling' checkbox

- Check the 'Always allow session cookies' checkbox

- Click 'OK' on all windows

- Reboot your computer.

This should fix the problem for you.

Thanks

Member [Leonard Begy]February 2, 2009 17:08:43I have tried all of this in great frustration, the site is accessible at times and inaccessible at others, with no change of settings.

Dear Leonard Begy,

It appears that you have trollnest.com both as a native domain (under this account) and as an external domain (under the ButchTroll account). This is causing a situation where half the time one account is being addressed, the other half the other account is. I'll check with our developers to find out how this happened in the first place, but your best bet to get everything working again is to remove trollnest.com from your external domains under your ButchTroll account.

Please let me know if you continue to run into problems!

Member [Leonard Begy]February 3, 2009 17:41:43Hey, thanks! nice job, you definately deserve a cookie!

Member [Leonard Begy]February 3, 2009 17:46:36P.S. the way this happened is that I had created the free site in contemplation of moving my programming efforts from godaddy to bravenet. I was with you guys in the early days of your operation, in the times of static IP's and private servers. Anyway the domain had expired and I re-registered it with you. I had forgotten all about my free site. thx again!
